My approach has always been intuitive.
I like to stay as close as I can to the common feel, and associate the viewer with a common touch. If I can draw the viewer into experiences that they have themselves had, and witnessed, without having the benefit of a camera in their hands, then I have the satisfying sense of re-igniting their memories, through my eyes, my lens, my feel, and my touch.
