Aramis Santos Soto / MILLO (Cuba, 1977)
Aramis Santos Soto, also known as Millo, is a Cuban artist who studied at the School of Crafts Pablo de La Torriente Brau in Havana, Cuba in 1997. After, he obtained his degree from the San Alejandro Fine Art Academy in Havana, Cuba in 2005. Millo has had over three solo exhibitions in Cuba and over ten group exhibitions throughout Cuba and Spain.
Millo is a visual artist whose own style includes fluid, but dramatic shapes. Seen in his piece 'Relación II', from the serie 'Light', every shape grabs the viewer's attention. No color is muted, and every texture is emphasized, from the swirls of marble to the graininess of wood.
There is something about Millos's shapes and textures, which reminds us about Miami. From the deep-sea ocean-blue in his 'DÃa de Verano' to the meditative stance of the figure in 'Pescador', it is obvious that the artist's focus on his work stands out and makes his work memorable.
