    About the Artist

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A versatile artist who approached painting, music and film-making. His education began at an early age introducing himself to painting, drawing and music (piano and guitar). Along with his regular education, Martin took courses and workshops with various artists and masters like Ernesto Bertani and Carlos Gorriarena among others. While developing his career in music as part of different rock, pop and blues bands, Martin expressed a great interest in film making and therefore studied film directing at TEA BS AS.

Martin directs several shorts and participates as an assistant and writer and music composer in others. In 2004 after living in Miami for three years, Martin returned to Argentina and dedicates his time fully to his work in painting. His early works are a reflection of his search for the adaptation of traditional portrait painting into the digital age. Martin experiments with different approaches of camera-like point of view and focusing, vision of classic portrait from the perspective of digital focus and play with the 16:9 format utilizing a vivid Chroma suggesting an HD aesthetic.

Following this line of work, Martin incorporates humor, and a bit of cynicism in the series about the loss of innocence. A sample of this is 'Falling Santa' (2012) where we witness Santa Claus falling from the sky to a busy city, or 'Bad Bunny' (2012) where the Easter Bunny explodes chocolate eggs in the air.

The result are works of great color with striking images that have a first innocent and playful approach but that invite to the viewer a second more thoughtful and meditative reading.
In this lines there are different series that speaks from the Global Warming (Lights Out, Worming, Skyline) to a certain cynical view of consumerism and the fast track way of life in the world (US Panda, Red Bear, Twitter, Paper, US Pill)
Always with the idea to tell a story, his works are full of humor, sarcasm, cynicism or nostalgia never go unnoticed.
