Betty’s style of painting was passed down to her by her mother acclaimed artist Minnie Pwerle (deceased). Like her mother she paints Awelye â€' Atnwengerrp, woman’s body paint and Bush Plum and Tomato. Betty's sister is Barbara Weir, and is cousins to the famous Petyarre family, Kathleen, Gloria, Jeannie, Nancy, Violet Petyarre and Ada Bird.
