Full color 3D printing isn't that simple as most people think. Because of the fragility of the model right out of the machine, it has to be postprocessed intensively to acquire a beautiful finish. I believe that I am one of the few people who can do this.
In my work I try to be inspired by popular culture and to combine elements in the scenery that give a surreal feeling to it.
'Pineapplegirl' is the seventh model in the series of 3D printed miniatures (9 centimeters high) I am designing, inspired by socalled 'Hummels' (kitsch little porcelain figures that are widely collected). The idea is that people who love my work, but for instance can't afford a bigger piece, will be inspired to collect the miniatures.
At this moment there are six other Humbelles available: 'Angry Mermaid', 'Watch', 'Pug', 'Rabbit', 'Finding Nemo' and 'Little Princess'. Several times a year I will try to release a new one.
