  • Description:

This is a mixed media piece. The sheep is bronze with an overall brown patina, but has many reds and greens in the sunlight. The base which represents snow, can be either a calcium rich plaster (standard) or a hand carved Carrara marble (add 300.00).

Provenance / History of This Item:

This sculpture was inspired by one of my many Alaskan bush adventures. I had watched this sheep for days, marveling at his majestic crown. Through my spotting scope, I counted 16 rings on one horn. Each ring represents a single year in one of the worlds most harsh environments, making him an extremely old ram. His body appeared very gaunt, as he picked his way through the rocks and cliffs. On the third day, it began to snow. When he finally bedded down at the opening of a cave, I had a feeling that he would never rise again. I was so lucky to witness this old fighters last moments.
