Size and Specifications
'B I G' is a hand drawn portrait of Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, the famous Brooklyn born rapper. 'B I G' is a combination of acrylic, spray paint, marker and newspaper collaged on board. The portrait of Biggie is large, almost overpowering. It was created as so - with the intent to grab the viewers' attention, to feel, to think, to relate. The portrait is surrounded by graffiti and splashes of red paint; both are symbolic of the life and death of one of Hip-Hops' greatest. The graffiti is a reminder, of the past, a memory of home. New York City is covered in graffiti, it is beautiful, its' welcoming, and for Biggie it was home. The splashes of red paint are meant symbolize what life is today. A life with out Biggie Smalls. Biggie was shot and killed on March 9, 1997 by an unknown assailant, just six months after rival Tupac Shakur was murdered. 'B I G' is a memorial, a piece created in honor of one of the greatest. Rest in peace to the infamous B.I.G
