  • Description:

Egypt had a form of state religion in which emperors & empresses (also known as Pharaohs) were worshiped as demigods.
My canvases have a preoccupation of these times in Egypt when kings & queens were worshiped. Upon backgrounds which depict daily life, symbols and artifacts of Egypt, I have superimposed my focal point- The Royalty. The works therefore, depict the larger than life stature of the Pharaohs who had absolute power over secular and religious life in Egypt.
This painting depicts King Tut, whose story is fascinating since he became Pharaoh at a very young age of nine years and married his half sister. This canvas tells a story of Royalty, of ancientness and of youth.
