Had Folk Air
2003 Acrylic on board (48' X 27')
For those who do not recognize the wearer of
this mask, the title of this painting is an
anagram of her name. 'Had Folk Air' is
particularly appropriate considering that she
was at the forefront of artists and intellectuals
of her time embracing Mexican native arts
and crafts. She invariably wore traditional
tribal dress with native crafted jewelry.
Another clue - the background is from one of
her paintings. I chose this mask for her
because of the fine little moustache.
This artwork is hand-painted in acrylic on Masonite. It is a framed original. AS SEEN in the Book 'Magic Faces, Caras Magicas' written by Michael P. Earney. It has been displayed in multiple art galleries and has had many articles written about the work.
